WHAT IS SOLID HARDWOOD FLOORING?

The original wood flooring option, solid wood is exactly what it sounds like. Solid wood is, as the name implies, a solid piece of wood from top to bottom, through its entire thickness. It can typically be refinished several times during its service life. You can get solid hardwood in many species and can choose whatever color of stain that you desire. It is generally regarded as the "gold standard" and most timeless flooring option ever created.

SOLID HARDWOOD VS ENGINEERED HARDWOOD

To the untrained eye, solid and engineered hardwood flooring look nearly the same. That’s because the real difference lies beneath the surface! Solid hardwood flooring is cut from a single, solid piece of wood. Engineered hardwood, on the other hand, is made up of three layers: solid hardwood on top and bottom and a compressed layer of plywood in the middle. Both give you the look and feel of hardwood floors, but there are some key differences.
